One of the most embarassing moments is having people walk/move away from you when you speak or you come close. It maybe acceptable when you are a kid or when you are straight from the gym, but if you look clean and decent and yet you have faul smell- it's really humiliating and can make ones life really difficult depend on where and why one smells.The heart breaking thing is that one could loose interviews/ promotions/ dates with possible life long partners, business opportunities and freinds. Perception is everything and first impressions last and people always assume that if you can not manage to take care of your basic hygiene then everything about you is possibly a mess.Now whether you are a teenager or an adult- the fact that you stink is an alarm that something is wrong or not done right in the same consistency needed. There are many factors that influence people to have a faul smell:
Your breath:
We are supposed to brush our teeth atlist after every meal due to the chemical in the food and the combination of saliva, heat and some blood to remove plaque build up, to remove access food stuck at the back and in between our teeth. They say brushing only eliminate 25% bacteria from our mouth so it should not be used alone.The next thing is to floss our teeth to remove the food stuck in between our teeth and corners, followed by scrubbing your tongue and the upper palate on the upper jaw so to really kill bateria follow this with a gurgle. It is preferred that one uses warm water when brushing as this method assist in washing away bacteria. In the absence of tooth brush and paste- gurgling with salt water and tooth peaking could do, and drinking water from time to time will assist in making sure you do not have dry mouth. Fruits like strawberries, cucumber, tomato,mint,fennel, parsley are said to be of great help as they're loaded with natural water and will leave your mouth a bit fresh.
But sometimes you are doing all the above but you still have a problem, then it is possible the issue is with your gums( bleeding gums/ rotten hidden teeth) that you are not aware of- see a dentist or your trusted physician for assistance. Sometimes you need to change your tooth brush every 3 months or whenever needed, keep your tooth brush clean and dry in safe and clean place,the tooth paste as well might work a sometimes the chemicals on the tooth paste are too hush for your gums and teeth.If the issue still persist then look into your tonsils- if you have missing teeth, your tonsils are working over time trying to assist break down your food.Tonsils have tiny pocket like areas where food can get stuck so gurgling and individual regular checks for tonsils stone could assist in cutting down the bad breath.Also check your nostrils are you breathing properly, or you have a sinus issues that forces you to breath through your mouth only - thus the dry mouth.Breathing through your nose allows the air to be cleaned properly before reaching your lungs. If you are always quiet this can cause bacteria and fungus built up so speak up from time to time.
Now lets say all is well in your mount but still there's an issue, then you need to monitor you health, you might have infection in your lungs/ kidney etc.There might be problems with the digestive system, gases produced in the stomach could be the cause.Sometimes it might be that you need colon cleansing- so stomach purging/ colon detoxing/ colon hydrotherapy might be needed. Choose what's safe and works for you.Sometimes due to health issues, depending on what you are intolerant to or the chronic illness you may be going through can modify the food you eat and causes bad breath or body odour. Some may notice this after eating dairy products, fried food, citrus fruits, caffeinated drinks, garlic, onion, coriander, some spices and even meats. So pay attention to what happens after eating certain foods and cut down their consumption or only eat them when at home. Sometimes eating mint sweets and chewing gum could make it worse for some, so understand where you are with everything and do what works for you.
Body odour:
The basic here is to shower or bath regularly(everyday).I know in some cultures bathing everyday is seen as wasteful and expensive and some can go for days without water and soap but still smell ok. But we are trying to fix the issue here.Sometimes the soap you use is not effective enough, sometimes the time spend under soap and water is not enough to eliminate bacterial build up, maybe your bathing face towel/scrub is not as clean as needed.So look into other products that may work. Pay attention to the pubic areas and your feet, scrub a couple of times, rinse and dry well.I helps to have other assist in those areas you cannot reach at times, your parent or partner can assist with that depending on your age group and also there are salons that offer different types of deep body cleansing that you can use from time to time.Trim or shave certain areas needed, use moisturiser and roll on that works for you and body sprays. Keep cool in summer by staying hydrated and wearing light breathable clothing and do not reuse underwears.Change sanitary pads frequently and clean your treasure regularly -if there are small little one in the house make sure to change their nappies when required and always carry extra when on go with clothes to change on.
Clean clothes:
Change your gym clothes immediately after use, soap those clothes that you had heavy sweat on them,make sure to use an effective detergent and hang your clothes outside to reach the sun so everthing is fresh. try and not mix underwears with clothes when washing, soak them seperately,also don't mix baby clothes with grown up,- wash seperately, this can be costly but until you know where the issue is seperate everything.Sometimes you need to clean your laundry machine or change as it may be dirty inside or just old.Try not to fill up the laundy machine - leave some space so the soap can be effective.Train your young to use washroom on time for number 1 so to cut down on urine spills. These are obviously basics but it helps to probe everything so fix this, teenagers at times have this thing of being lazy and only wear perfume spray and not shower and go to school, monitor this and fix it as it affects their image and affect the smell of everyone clothes in the same household.
House Odour;
Change your carpet or clean it regularly,change your linen and sheets, take out the bins daily, wash and dry the basin, wash the dishes atlist twice daily, move and clean behind the fridge, stove, laundry machine, remove old food in the fridge, clean inside and out of the pantry and the kitchen cabinets.Clean and refresh the vegetable rack.Move furniture around to check for any dead rats,cockcroaches depending on your area and house cleanliness. Clean tge washroom regularly, take out the mops snd don't keeps used soap water Take out the smelling shoes into the balcony, or clean and dry them and burn one of those odour eliminating essense. Wrap sanitary pads and baby nappies with paper towel and place then in tight plastics bag and throw it away immediately. Service the drains and geysers in the house even if it's diy job, white vinegar and baking soda seems to do the magic.
Personality:
Yes sometimes its your personality thaty stinks- you are rude, disrespectful, selfish, arrogant and a narcissist, a manipulator of things and situations,a breaker of souls, a bully,you are mean and unhappy so everyone has to suffer. At times one may feel that they belong to a different class and undermines those they feel are under their class, but funny enough I have met the richest people in the world and they are so humble and grounded and those that have few thousands in their bank accounts- feel superior to others.Sometime this is caused by family lineage and or soceity one is exposed to that treats others badly based on their status.Sometimes it may be their little acheivements that one has accomplished that may make them feel untouchable.Sometimes it maybe the the person belief system that make them mean to others.
Either way do some soul searching and fix where needed, people only remember what you stood for and how you made them feel and your image ofcourse once you are no longer here.Clean healthy living is the goal. When it fails - pray it away.
